Kumu Dane Kaohelani Silva(クム デェーン カオヘラニ シルヴァ   以下Kumu Dane)のもとでロミロミを学び、その教えを長年に渡り受け継いできた。

THE DANE SILVA HAWAIIAN HEALING CENTER AND KĪPUKA GARDEN

Originally from Japan and now based on Hawaiʻi Island, Kumu Yumiko Ku'uleinani is a lomilomi practitioner and teacher whose work is deeply rooted in Hawaiian values, cultural practices, and relationship to place.

She trained closely under Kumu Dane Kaohelani Silva and was honored by him with the title of Poʻokela. Entrusted to carry forward his teachings, Yumiko Ku'uleinani continues his work through Hale Ola, perpetuating the lomilomi traditions, values, and cultural understanding passed on to her by her kumu.

She serves as a board member supporting the development of a Hawaiian healing center and hospital on Hawaiʻi Island in Puna. A mother of three, she is raising her children with a strong connection to Hawaiian language and culture; two are enrolled in Hawaiian language immersion education, while her youngest is not yet school-aged. Kumu Yumiko Ku'uleinani and her family serve as caretakers of Moanikeʻala, a heritage estate on Hawaiʻi Island, where the well-known song “Kimo Henderson Hula” was written.

Her work encompasses lomilomi, mālama ʻāina, plant-based healing, cultural education, and the cultivation of spaces where healing, culture, and traditional knowledge can continue to be practiced, shared, and passed on to future generations.

Through her teaching, Kumu Yumiko Ku'uleinani is committed to sharing lomilomi not simply as a technique, but as a living practice grounded in relationship, kuleana, cultural understanding, and the teachings entrusted to her by Kumu Dane.
